In May 2025, Echoes of Africa partnered with City Academy, Floriescence and Fufu n' Sauce to bring a two-day cultural wellness experience to students in St. Louis. The workshops combined cooking, storytelling, sensory art, guided meditation, future-self mind mapping, music and dance to create a space where young minds could explore, dream and connect.

Creative strategy meets cultural education

As co-founder of Echoes of Africa and founder of Floriescence, Florie shaped an experience that blended creative direction with hands-on cultural learning. The team guided students through African-inspired music and dance, led interactive storytelling and created moments for mindfulness and self-reflection. Florie also documented the days through photography and video, capturing the energy and imagination of every participant.

Seconds, thirds and fourths

The students were captivated by the food and came back for seconds, and even fourths. They loved learning traditional dances and sharing their dreams with one another, and the Floriescence activities encouraged them to imagine big while connecting to their heritage and to each other.

The program showed how arts and wellness can work together to build confidence, creativity and cultural appreciation. The students asked for the program to come back, proof that culture, wellness and imagination can create memories that last.
